Madi's first EVER haircut!!!

That's right...Madi had NEVER had her haircut...until now! I had planned to get it cut when she turned 3 but kept putting it off.. and she loved her long hair too. But it was well and truly time for her very first trip to the hairdressers...luckily once I mentioned it to her she was quite keen. So...we made it a girls day out for a little pampering. She got her hair cut first and then I had my turn. She was so good! She sat there and did everything that was asked of her...and got a yummy heart shaped lollypop afterwards too! :)

So here's how long her hair was... pretty long huh?

Here she is in the chair. I was so proud of her!

And here's our new-look Madi! It's so much more managable...and she's as cute as ever!

Thankfully she loves her new 'do'. :)

Now for a little scrapping before I go. The May Monthly challenge has just gone up over at Scrapz...set by me. (Details of the challenge and how to enter can be found HERE.)

I made this little fabric covered 'Baby Stats' mini book with the idea of having all our family baby stats in the one place. It has a baby pic of each of us along with details such as when & where we were born, our weight and length...all those important little details we want to remember. Here are the inside pages (with dates of birth removed :) )
I just love looking back at those sweet little faces! Although it just makes me realise how fast they've grown!! Where has the time gone?!

Luckily I already had a photo that Paul's Mum had given us from the day he was born with all his details on the back...but no such luck when it came to my baby photos. The earliest one I could find was when I was about 4 weeks old so I had to settle for that one. (Mum and Dad didn't have a camera back then!) I kept the inside pages fairly simple to reduce the bulk. I'm so glad I've finally done this little project! It'll be fun to look through in years to come...the kids love it too!

That's about it from me tonight! *yawn* I'm off to bed. Enjoy the long weekend! Hope you've got something fun planned. :)

A sketch challenge...

Hi everyone! I just want to start off by saying THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the beautiful messages that were left on my previous post!! Wow...I really do appreciate you taking the time and you really are the sweetest!!! I've already been busily scrapping some samples for a couple of fantastic upcoming classes by Kim and Yvette... details coming soon! :)

It's that time of the week weekly challenges are up over at Scrapz Biz! It was my turn for the sketch challenge. (Details on how to enter can be found HERE.) Here's my sketch...
And here's my sample layout. Ok... I think I've got a thing for banners at the moment. LOL I'm sure it'll wear off soon! ;)

I just love these pics of Madi and her "best fwend"! So funny...whenever Livvy comes to visit Madi has to go and get changed so she's the same. If Livvy's got a dress on, Madi's needs a dress on. If Livvy's wearing a skirt then Madi needs a skirt. This one particular day Livvy just happened to be wearing a shirt that Madi had in her drawer so of course she had to put it on! Very cute. Hee hee hee

I've used a mix of American Crafts Dear Lizzy (can't get enought of it!) and Crate Paper-Paper Doll goodies.

Well...I've gotta run. I'm right in the middle of watching the So You Think You Can Dance's FANTASTIC!!! Don't want to miss anything! :)

A layout and 'Sew Lovely' cards...

Hi everyone! This week's challenges have gone up over at Scrapz and it was my turn to set the What's Cooking challenge. (Details can be found HERE.) Here's my sample layout...Hmmm...the colours aren't quite right....sorry about that...but you get the idea. :) Here are some close-ups...

I've done a little stamping this week too. I came across these gorgeous Lawn Fawn "Sew Lovely" stamps online a few weeks back HERE and ordered them on the spot. They're gorgeous!!! I grabbed my new The Girls Paperie papers and came up with these...

Aren't they just the cutest stamps? :)

On the homefront, the boys are back at school this week and really enjoying being back (thank goodness!). Madi's feeling a little lost though. She really misses them while they're at school. We get to around lunchtime before she starts asking when we're going to pick them up! LOL So sweet that she loves their company so much. :) Paul's as busy as ever with work...I don't know how he keeps up with it all! I wish I had some of his energy sometimes!

Well, I think that's about it for now. The kettle's boiled...time for a cuppa!

A little kite card...

I was having a good look at the new October Afternoon 'Fly A Kite' range online yesterday (can't wait to get my hands on it!) and it got me all inspired to make something with a kite on I grabbed some scraps of paper and ribbon, some string... had a play and came up with this...

To create the background I dug out my chalks (I almost forgot where they were since I haven't used them for so long!) and used my new Hero Arts grass stamp. I then used my Label Spellbinders die and Cuttlebug to cut and emboss the shape. I decided to handstitch around the outside (didn't trust my machine stitching to get it right. LOL).

The kite was so easy to put together with scraps, a bit of white cardstock and some machine stitching.

Added some string with little ribbon knots for the kite's tail...I handcut some clouds, then added my stamped sentiment (by Hero Arts) and some punched butterflies (Martha Stewart punch).

All done! :)

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Monstrosity Cards and a quick catchup...

The weekly challenges are back over at Scrapz.Biz and this week I've set the Noteworthy challenge. (Details can be found HERE.) Here's my set of Sass Lass 'Monstrosity' cards...This range of papers is so fun and still one of my great for boys projects!

Here are some closeups...

Now for a quick catchup of what's been happening over the past week or so. How was your Easter? We had such a lovely Easter weekend. We headed up to my parents place...luckily we'd written a letter to the Easter Bunny so he'd know where to find us! :) We were up VERY early Sunday morning doing our egg much fun! Chocolate for breakfast...then my brother and his family arrived. So lovely to catch up with the whole family. I don't have any pics to share at the moment...they're all still on the camera! Whoops...

Since then the kids have had such a fun time hanging out together, playing their DS and Playstation, jumping on the trampoline, building with Lego, constructing all kinds of things with boxes, drawing, painting, etc. I can't believe how fast these holidays are going by! Madi loves having both the boys home to play with. We've just pitched a little dome tent in the doubt someone will be camping out there tonight! LOL

This week I've been concentrating on getting my round 2 entry completed for the Kim Archer Workshops @Home ST comp. Oh my goodness...I'm SO unbelievably excited to have made the top 15 list!!!! I'm still pinching myself that my name is included there amongst so many super talented ladies... you can check it all out HERE. What a dream come true it would be to make it through!!!! Did I tell you how excited I am? LOL

Well, looks like the boys need some help with their building project. Duty calls! See you again soon! :)

Happy Easter!!!

Paul, Madi and I just got home from watching both the boys in their Easter Hat Parades. So much fun! They made their hats themselves in class and were very proud of their creations!

Here's Ayden in his Easter hat and necklace...

And here is Riley's first ever Easter hat!
All the kids had a great time, sang some songs and had a dance... and there was even an appearance by the Easter Bunny! You should have heard the screams of excitement when they saw him!!!! LOL
Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Easter! Hope you get to spend some fun time with family and friends...and relax! I know all three of my kids cannot wait for Sunday morning! :)
Happy Easter!
