Crate Paper - Paper Doll goodies...

Back in February I was lucky enough to win a prize in a comp on the Crate Paper Blog...and this week my new goodies arrived on my doorstep! Yippee!!!! I opened up my package to find the entire Paper Doll collection...

This range is seriously cute! Perfect for pages for Madison! So last night I finally got to sit down and have a play and came up with this...
I also threw in a little American Crafts using some thickers and Dear Lizzy chipboard pieces.
Anyway, since this is all I have to share in this post I thought I'd include a few close-up pics...
I overlapped the larger thickers for a little dimension...

I cut the little girls out of one of the papers and layered them onto a journalling spot and added a cut-out flower behind it... and the Dear Lizzy chipboard hearts (love them!).
I used a couple of the chipboard flowers and added chipboard centres for dimension, another journalling spot and Dear Lizzy heart...
To create the swirly lines you can see I used a new Dear Lizzy stamp and Versamark ink to stamp the image onto the cardstock, then hand stitched over the top to add a little texture...Madi got a lovely surprise when she saw this layout this morning...she loves her friend Georgia SO much! :)
I think I'll be doing a lot more with Paper Doll in the coming weeks...LOVE it!
Well...I've gotta run... but have a great weekend! Thanks so much for dropping by! :)

One happy little boy, a Lego Book and some scrapping...

Ayden is one VERY happy boy right now. This weekend he finally had enough money saved to go and buy his Nintendo DS!He's very proud of himself...and so he should be too! He did an amazing job saving every cent of his pocket money until he had enough. Needless to say he's been doing a lot of this over the past couple of days...
He's loving it! Now of course Riley and Madi really want one too. LOL I think there'll be a lot of nagging going on here over the coming weeks!

A little while ago I saw a book set on Melissa Goodsell's blog that I just knew my boys would LOVE since they're such big Lego fans!!! Well... I went ahead and ordered one and it just arrived this morning. Riley's eyes were as big as saucers! He's very excited. (He's home from school sick today.) Ayden hasn't seen it yet but he'll be over the moon when he does. It's a fantastic set of two books all about Lego..beautiful pictures and loads of information throughout. If you're interested I bought it online HERE.

Now for some scrapping from the past week or so. These Easter gift cups were for one of the Scrapz.Chickadees challenges. (Details can be found HERE.)

I also found some like these ones HERE which the kids love! They're super easy to make.
I also set an Easter inspired 'What's Cooking' challenge for Scrapz.Chickadees. Details can be found HERE.The journalling on this layout reads: "These photos make me giggle! Not just because of the boys giving each other rabbit ears but because Madison is giving herself rabbit ears! She hasn't quite caught onto the game just yet."

I also scrapped this one for Ayden the other night about his gappy smile. He had three teeth fall out in quick succession at the end of last year. The new teeth still haven't come through yet! LOL

The journalling on this one reads: "Today your second front tooth fell out! That's three gaps in your beautiful smile now. Those teeth of yours seem to be falling out all over the place! Your other front tooth is slowly making its way down but it's going to be a while before we see a full set of teeth in your grin again. In the meantime you're still as cute as ever!"

That's it from me for now. Hope you're feeling great! I'll be back again soon...

Don't you love new goodies?

Over the past few days I've been having a play with this new stamp of mine...
I love it! It's the Hero Arts Starburst Lace doily stamp. My first little project was a birthday card for this beautiful friend of mine which I've already given to I made another one just because..... :)

Here's a close up so you can see the tulle in the layering...

Then today I put this one together using some old Chattebox papers and embellishments, some of my fave thickers and my Martha Stewart double loops edge punch...

The journalling reads: "Right now with your brothers both at school it's just you and I at home together. I want to make the most of this preciousl time we have because I know that all too soon you'll be off to kindy, then school and we won't have these days to play with dollies, paint our fingernails and have fun with just the two of us. I want to enjoy every moment!"

I'm really aware of how fast time is going to fly by now that the boys are at school, and with Madi going to kindy next year I really want to focus on our one-on-one time together. Funny though...apparently I wasn't paying enough attention to what she was up to the other day. Imagine my reaction when I discovered that while I was in the kitchen, Madi had found a permanent black marker pen and decided to draw a lovely big line (about a metre long) onto our cream carpet!!!! ARGH!!!! OMG I freaked wondering how on earth I was going to get it out? Luckily my super-dooper carpet spray worked and the carpet is now stain free....but once I'd finally finished that job I then found this....grrrrrrrr.....

She'd also got creative on one of the couch cushions! I haven't even attempted to get this one clean...I think it may be a write-off. Needless to say all permanent black marker pens are now off-limits!!! *sigh*

Anyway....before I go I've got one more card to share. This was for one of the Scrapz.Chickadeez challenges last week. Challenge details and my card template can be found HERE.

This was inspired by an Easter card that Ayden brought home from school last year...funny where you can draw ideas from! LOL

Well...I'm off to grab a cuppa and watch the last of The Mentalist. Thanks for dropping by!

Dear Lizzy goodness and a bunny or two...

Over the weekend I finally sat down to have a play with my fave new Dear Lizzy goodies. I've only got some of the papers, and a couple of embellies at the moment but I've got more on the way! I just adore this whole range! I managed to get a couple of pages done but only one I can share at the moment...
Since the boys started school this year Madi has said this to me almost every day! It's taking her a bit of getting used to being the only one at home now with only Mummy to play with. I love that she has such a close connection with her brothers though... it really does warm my heart. :)

Love these adhesive badges!!!! Gorgeous! I also used some Jenni Bowlin journaling stickers and Martha Stewart butterfly them too! Hee hee hee

Easter crafting has already begun over at Scrapz.Biz with Scrapz.Chickadees. (Can you believe we're already a week into March?!!) It's been a lot of fun so far! Today was my turn to set the challenge. These envelope bunny baskets are a great, easy activity to do with the kids. You can find instructions on how to make these at various kids' craft sites all over the web but details on how I made mine can be found HERE.

The white rabbit was made from an envelope and the blue one was made from a gift bag...very easy! The kids love them...although I think I'll be making a third one very soon or there's going to be a fight over that blue one. LOL

Well I hope you're having a great day!!! I've gotta run...there's a little girl requesting My Little Pony biscuits tugging on my shirt. :)

Starting tomorrow...

There's going to be loads of Easter inspiration over the next couple of weeks over at Scrapz.Biz! Melleny will be kicking off the fun with the first Easter challenge tomorrow morning....I'm looking forward to it!

Since I've been working on my challenges in preparation for Scrapz.Chickadees I'm afraid I don't have anything to share at the moment. I'll be back very soon with something I'm sure. :)

By the you like my new look? My blog's new look I mean. LOL... I thought it was time for a change. Pretty simple I know.... but I had lots of fun putting together the new header with a bit of 'Dear Lizzy' (my fave new American Crafts goodies!) and learned a bit about playing in Photoshop...although I've still got SO much to learn about that program! Am I the only one who finds it confusing?

Well, I guess that's it for the moment. Thanks for dropping by and I'll see you soon!
