A clever little monster, little faces & a button heart

I'm one very proud mummy! Riley came home very excited about a surprise he had in his home folder...his very first ever school award!!!!
The award was for 'having the confidence to give new things a try.' Oh my was just fantastic to see how proud of himself he was! We've been so worried about how he was going in Prep so to see him come home with this award was so exciting! We hope his confidence grows more and more each day... he seems to be really enjoying himself at school now. :)
Onto some scrapping and I've got a couple of things to share...
This layout was just for fun about the morning I got up to find Riley missing from his bed! After frantically searching the house, calling his name and getting no response I finally found him sound asleep under our bed! I have to say I was really starting to panic by the time I found him...and thank goodness he hasn't done it again! He must've come in during the night...can't have been comforable under there! LOL
This layout was for Jen's What's Cooking challenge where we had to use die cut paper, the colour red, at least one b&w photo and the number 2 (my number 2 is in the date). I used some new Jenni Bowlin and Prima and my double loop Martha Stewart punch on this one.

My last share for this post is this button heart shadow box frame that I made for this week's Build It Up challenge over at Scrapz Biz. (Details of the challenge can be found HERE and instructions on how I created it can be found HERE. You'll need to be logged in to see the instructions.)

I plan on updating the photo now and then to keep it current..I'll use a family pic next I think.

Well...I'm outta here! It's getting kinda late and I'm sure I'll have three little voices waking me up early again tomorrow. LOL Thanks so much for dropping by! Always lovely to see you here! :)

A layout or three...

It's been a long time since I scrapped a layout about Paul and I, so with Valentine's Day this past weekend I thought I'd grab some pics of us and get busy creating a page or two. I really should scrap more photos of us...I 'm going to make an effort to do just that!

Paul had to work on Valentines Day this year, so while he was gone I scrapped this one so it was sitting on the shelf for when he got home...

I'd had these photos sitting around for a while too so I used them to create my sample page for this week's sketch challenge over at Scrapz.Biz. First of all here is my sketch...
And this is my sample page. I know....more lovey dovey stuff! LOL

I made the big white flower by layering different sized crumpled circles of tissue paper and tulle...very easy!
(If you'd like to join in the challenge for a chance to win a prize you'll find all the details HERE.)
Yesterday this beautiful friend and I got together for a bit of scrapping. We hardly ever get to do this...and usually when we do I get nothing done...too much chatting! LOL But this time we were both determined to actually finish a page in one sitting . :) I finally got out my January Ticklez Kit and scrapped this page using some old pics of Madi and I. She looks so little!!!
I've got SO much stuff left in this kit...I'm sure I'll get at least another 5 or so layouts out of it! (If you've never seen the kits that Heike has in store just click HERE and check them out....they really are fantastic value for money! There's a new kit available each month.)
Anyway...that's about it for now! Gotta run...lots to do today...
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Cards for Valentine's Day

Have you made any cards ready for your Valentine tomorrow? I thought I'd share these ones that I made for the challenge I set for the Scrapz.Amour comp over at Scrapz.Biz this week. (The challenge focused on using background stamping.)

I used my Hero Arts Woodgrain background stamp for this one. (I really love this stamp!) Then I simply drew the design in pencil and hand stitched over it.

For this card I used a Hero Arts alpha stamps, Cloud & Woodgrain background stamps, a Unity Stamps Worn Grid stamp (for the grass) and Basic Grey Owl stamp. To create the tree stump I stamped the woodgrain onto some kraft cardstock and hand cut the main stump shape, then cut an oval from the section of the stamp that had the swirl design and added it to the top of the stump.

I used my cloud background stamp and owl stamps again for this one, along with some Cosmo Nutmeg paper.

I found the perfect stick in the garden to use as the branch and punched some little hearts to use for the leaves.

And finally for my last card I used a small Stampin' Up heart and VersaMark ink to stamp my kraft background. The Love stamp is by Basic Grey.

I think that should do me for Valentines cards for a while! LOL I don't think I've ever made so many in one go! I should be right for Paul tomorrow at least. ;)

We've spent the last few hours here watching the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics on tv....WOW!!! It had some really spectacular moments throughout!! Did anyone else see it? I think they're replaying it again tonight on tv. I really enjoyed it!

Well... better run and get a few things done around here before dinner. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Madi!

Our little Miss M has turned 3!!!! It was her birthday last week and she had such a fun weekend! We took all the kids to an indoor playcentre with two of Madi's favourite friends on the Saturday. Then on the Sunday Nanna & Grandpa came to visit! She got lots of fun pressies...Barbie seemed to be the theme this year!
Paul volunteered to make her cake this year. He really is fantastic at it don't you think?
Madi was so excited when she saw it...just look at her in this pic! She couldn't wait to get her hands on that Barbie from the middle! LOL
Then Friday it was my birthday! No pics I'm afraid (hee hee hee)...somehow I managed to dodge the camera all day. ;) I did have a lovely day (besides waking up with a killer headache and sinusitis!). Paul and the kids woke me up with a beautifully sung 'Happy Birthday' song, loads of cuddles and some pressies...including this...LOL
Scrapping cash!!!! (He really cracks me up sometimes!) Now I can't wait to get my hands on some of those new CHA goodies! LOL
Paul had to head off to work for the day and the boys went to school. This beautiful friend of mine then came to visit for the day and spoiled me with more pressies and a cake. :)
That afternoon I also got the exciting news that I was one of the winners on the Crate Paper New Blog Contest and now I've got the gorgeous new Paper Doll complete collection coming my way! What a cool birthday bonus! :) So while I really didn't feel the greatest...I did have a great day. :)
I have a couple of cards to share before I go. I made both of these for Challenge 2 of the Scrapz.Amour comp that's running over at Scrapz.Biz at the moment. I love these umbrella and teapot stamps...too cute!

Jen's been posting some really handy stamping tips all week if you're interested and the comp is set to continue until Feb 12. It's been a lot of fun so far! (All the details can be found in the forum.)

Ok...that's it from me for now! No doubt I've forgotten something...but it'll have to wait until next time. I've got a nice hot cuppa calling my name! :) Take care! I'll be back again in a couple of days with some more cards to share.
