Some big news...

There's about to be a few changes happening at our place! Paul's getting a promotion! YIPPEE!! (So proud of him!) During the first week in March he steps into the Chief Pilot Position at Careflight. It's going to be a fantastic, challenging change for him and great experience... and he's already sinking his teeth into the new role. It does however mean a few things will change for us at home. His work days will change (we've been quite happy with the roster that he's been on all this time) so that'll take a bit of adjustment... but it also means that I'll no longer be working & teaching scrapping classes at Sunbird Scrapbooking.... at least for the time being.

I've been there well over a year now and as much as I love it I'm just not going to have the flexibility to work during the week anymore. I'm really going to miss it as it's been my escape... so great to be doing something I enjoy so much and getting paid for it! I'll be working my last day at the shop this coming Saturday. Today I ran my last Scrap-a-Sketch class too. I just wanted to thank everyone who's ever come along to one of my scrapping classes... especially Jo and Kate who've been to almost every one since I started there! I've so enjoyed meeting you all and sharing my love of this craft with you.

You won't be getting rid of me altogether though - I will be running one card class every month. At this stage it'll be the third Sunday of the month. Here's a sneak peek of my class that'll be running on Sunday 15 March (11am to 1pm)...

We'll be using papers from the new Kaiser Sugar Sugar range, the Cuttlebug machine along with a little stamping, punching and distressing. I'd love to see you there! If you'd like more information just e-mail me at , or contact Sunbird Scrapbooking on (07) 5520 5598.

Before I go, here are my two layout examples from today's Scrap-a-Sketch class...

(Don't look too closely at those wrinkles in that first layout! LOL)

That's it from me today. Enjoy the rest of your week!

A quick update... I know I haven't posted in a while but I just haven't felt like blogging over the past week or so. The horrific fires in much devastation and tragic loss... so many people whose lives have been affected.... I've been filled with sadness hearing the stories of what people have been through... but also filled with pride at how so many Aussies have banded together to help the survivors any way they can with donations and whatever they can think of. If you haven't had the opportunity yet please consider donating to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
We haven't had too much happening here. School runs, work, kindy... all the usual things. Thankfully Riley had a great day at kindy last Friday...the first day he hasn't cried when we dropped him off since the first day he started so maybe things are looking up! He came home buzzing about his day and telling us all the fun things he got to do so hopefully he's now getting used to the routine and getting to know his teachers and new friends a little better. He goes again tomorrow so fingers crossed!

I've got one layout to share from my Scrap-a-Sketch class today at Sunbird Scrapbooking. (I'll have to share the second layout once I've photographed it... just realised I haven't done that yet! I know... pretty slack! LOL)

Hmmm... I think a cuppa and chocolate should finish off my night nicely... I'm off to put the kettle on! Enjoy the rest of the week! I'll be back soon with another update... won't leave it so long next time!

3 Birthdays Within a Week!

My baby girl turned 2 last weekend! Wowee time sure has flown by... it feels like only yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital but here she is celebrating her 2nd birthday already! We got up early to open her presents since Paul had to head off to work. She was so excited and got right into tearing the paper off to see what was inside! She got a new doll's cradle, a Dora pop up house, clothes, a silver bracelet, plus a few other bits and pieces. Then later that morning Nanna, Grandpa and Uncle Steve arrived with MORE gifts! Two barbies, a barbie dvd, some dress-up shoes, a 3D castle book and a bubble blower! She was a very lucky girl... She thoroughly enjoyed her day!

We then had some wonderful news during the week that Paul's brother John and his wife Leigh had their very first baby...a totally gorgeous little baby boy they've named Noah. We drove up to Brisbane to see them in hospital on Wednesday. He really is adorable!! I did take a pic but haven't checked with them if they mind me posting it here so I'll leave it out for the time being.

Then it was my turn... it was my birthday on Thursday! Paul and the kids totally spoiled me... breakfast in bed, went out to lunch, Paul cooked dinner... plus they gave me some gorgeous new beads for my Pandora bracelet ( a little birdie, camera, hearts and mother & child beads - love them all!), some earrings and chocolates. Ayden also made me a little rainbow 'Mum'... too cute!

(The little tea cup bead in the photo was from my beautiful friend Mel for my birthday too! Love it!) We had a girl's night out on Friday to celebrate. We went to a fantastic Thai restaurant close by and it was so much fun to catch up. The food was so delicious, the company was fabulous! (Thank you again girls for a great night... and those gorgeous pressies too!)Now for a couple of shares... I found this card in my scraproom that i made last year but haven't posted here yet. It was inspired by a card I saw on the Pink Paislee blog a while ago but I have no idea who made it now...

And here are a couple of layouts too. (I've scraplifted myself for the second layout. LOL Makes for a quick page!)

Ok that's it for today! Better go and see what the kids are up too... they've suddenly gone way to quiet... LOL.

Take care!
